Brown bear

The brown bear is Europe's largest terrestrial mammal. Highly intelligent and remarkably agile, it can reach speeds of up to 60 km/h (37 mph). It is an enduring symbol of strength, wilderness, and solitude.

Wolf

The wolf is a carnivorous mammal and the largest member of the Canidae family. Its scientific name is Canis lupus, with Canis denoting the genus and lupus the species. The wolf evolved into its present form approximately one million years ago, long before the emergence of modern humans.

Jackal

The golden jackal (Canis aureus), also known as the common jackal, belongs to the Canidae family. According to current estimates, it has the second smallest population among Greece's large carnivores, after the wolf. The golden jackal is a medium-sized carnivore with a highly opportunistic diet. Although primarily carnivorous, it is an omnivorous species that readily feeds on a wide variety of plant material and fruits whenever available.

Lynx

The Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) belongs to the cat family (Felidae) and is the largest of the world's four lynx species.
